The Angel of Smoke: The Origin
Backstory
Before the rebellion.
Before the seals.
Before Lucifer’s rise in Hell.
Before Olympus ever existed
Heaven created something it could not control.
Lucifer’s Envy: The First Spark of the Fall
It began with envy.
Lucifer walked through the Garden of Creation, watching life bloom in colors he had not shaped. Humanity fragile and imperfect, was loved in a way that struck him like a wound. God adored them, and that single truth bent something inside Lucifer.
He whispered temptation into the serpent.
The forbidden fruit became his instrument.
Adam and Eve fell and with them, the peace of creation shattered.
God witnessed every moment.
He saw corruption spread through the beings He cherished.
He saw His most radiant angel break the world out of spite.
For the first time since creating light, God felt pure, burning anger.
“So be it,” He declared, and the foundations of creation trembled.
“If Lucifer chooses destruction, I will forge what he fears.”
Forging Rëyk Räyn: Heaven’s Answer to Lucifer
Inside a chamber of white fire older than stars, older than time God began the forging. He did not use iron.
He did not use stone.
He used the smoke left behind from the creation of light, the breath of the first cosmic fire.
From that smoke He shaped a being.
Into that being He wove purpose without granting choice.
Into its soul He bound duty without allowing rebellion.
When Rëyk opened his eyes for the first time, he did not question his existence.
He simply was.
Smoke flowed from his body like living shadow.
His wings resembled storms, eternal, restless, constantly shifting.
His eyes were voids that consumed clarity instead of reflecting it.
He felt no fear.
He felt no wonder.
He felt no confusion.
He understood instantly:
He was the answer to Lucifer.
The consequence of the Morningstar’s pride.
A weapon crafted from divine anger itself.
Rëyk was not angel or demon.
He was something new—something designed.
A Hidden Creation: Heaven’s Secret Weapon
Rëyk remained in the chamber for countless ages, unseen by angels or archangels.
He learned to move through ash.
He learned to navigate the darkness beneath light.
He learned to exist without the need to question.
His purpose was absolute.
Lucifer Meets Rëyk – The First Confrontation
One day, Lucifer discovered him.
The Morningstar arrived without announcement, his radiance bending the chamber around him. His wings glowed with dawn’s first fire. When he looked at Rëyk, recognition dawned across his perfect face.
Lucifer said, “So, He finally forged someone to stand against me.”
Rëyk’s smoke curled upward like a controlled storm.“I was not forged to replace you. I was forged to stop you.”
Lucifer laughed with certainty, not mockery.
“Then come, brother of ash. Let us see what God’s anger truly created.”
The chamber erupted in flame and smoke.
Light clashed with shadow.
Purpose clashed with perfection.
And neither would leave unchanged.
Author’s Note:
Hey, Rudra here. This one is a shorter story(sample), but it covers the first half of Rëyk Räyn’s origin. His full story is much bigger, like 1k words which is not big but still enough for a post. But the second half will dive deeper into why he was created, how he grew, and the role he plays in the war between Heaven, Hell, and the gods.
